Pans have made their home in the mountains on the Island of Kymer for many, many seasons, living comfortably among the rocky crags, along the sweetwater streams and in the lush mountain meadows of Pan Mountain, located a short hike north of Phantasus, Kymer's principal city, and just beyond the southern boundary of the Second Kingdom.

Adventurous (some would say riotous), fun loving travelers by nature and by choice, the Pans' notoriety as smooth talking, flirtatious creatures is well known in lands near and far.

When they are not gathered around a campfire, passing a flask of Brother Huckleberry's potent huckleberry wine and telling tall tales of their latest conquest and the charms of the feminine form, they can be found entertaining a group of Kymerians at some amusing Pan game. It has been said that these games are a cleverly surreptious way of luring the ladies of Kymer and Second Kingdom up to Pan Mountain. Whether there is truth to this or not, it is true that the ladies (and the gentlemen!) leave these games smiling.

Despite their quixoitc reputations, at heart the Pan Brotherhood are creatures of the earth, and find great pleasure in celebrating the beauty of their mountain and the surrounding lands. Wistfully haunting music of a reed flute is often heard echoing on the wind as some Pan sits by a mountain stream, his music paying tribute to the beauty of the moment, or as he pauses in his foray through the forests and foothills to serenade some creature of the land. Friend and protector of all creatures and special protectors of their beloved owls, the Pan Brotherhood are most at peace when surrounded by nature.

As Brothers leave Pan Mountain to sojourn in distant lands, and others return from such travels, life on Pan Mountain follows the timeless rhythm of the seasons--the continual ebb and flow of birth, growth, decline and departure, of beginnings and endings.

Such is life among the Brotherhood of the Pans.
