| Muse Polyhymnia checked the clock in the Muse lounge for what seemed like the hundredth time that morning, flicked the curtain aside and peered through the window once again. Would the postman never arrive? Some weeks ago she had taken it upon herself to send away for a special surprise gift for Mother, enclosing a collection of tokens she and her Sisters had tossed into the Muse pond with their various wishes. She had not been able to retrieve all of the wish tokens because Fred the Fish (who had mistaken them for foil-wrapped chocolate coins) had eaten far too many for his own good. As a result, the wishes for lightweight, summer Mini-Robes and for bathing suits that were not made of striped flannel and did not droop to their ankles (and which Mother found so becoming) would have to wait. But the wishes attached to the tokens that she had been able to rescue were delightful enough and she giggled again at the prospect of surprising her Sisters and Mother with the special delivery - if only that postman would show up! At that very moment the doorbell rang, and she raced for the gate, hairpins flying, to find ... nobody there. Well almost nobody. She thought she caught a glimpse of a goblin-shaped shadow slipping away through the shrubbery, but the neatly wrapped parcel on the ground drove all other thoughts from her mind, and, sweeping it up to examine it, she read: "To: Muse Polyhymnia, Muse Mansion, Phantasus, Kymer." It was here! And not a moment too soon, if she was to ready the contents before her Sisters returned from tending the Morpheus Rose Gardens. So she hied to the Muse Spa (recalling Mother's instructions that ladies can't run but they can hie) set the parcel gently on the counter, removed the wrapping paper and carefully opened the box. Yes yes, it was all here! An entire collection of Muse Beauty Products: Cotton Puffs, Bath Salts, Hand Cream, Mousse (which she fervently hoped would reduce the number of hairpins she'd have to use) and even Muse Blush. But wait - what was that object nestled in the tissue at the bottom of the box? Why ... it was a dear little musical snow globe of all things. She knew she hadn't ordered anything of the kind, but before she knew what she was doing, she found herself winding the key on the base. Now that was a familiar tune ... if only she could place it. It had a sort of marching rhythm ... and for some reason it made her think of a famous mouse from the waking world - an assistant to a magician (in much the same way that Wasser B. Maus is a faithful Muse assistant). And even as she flipped the snow globe upside down to read the name of the tune, she remembered that it was "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", and as the snowflakes started to swirl within the globe, the gift canisters and pots on the counter began to vibrate and then whirl in time to the music. And now where there had been only one container of each there were two, then three and then a dozen. To her growing horror, Polyhymnia realized that there was only one way to deal with the situation - flee! And flee she did, out of the spa, through the Muse kitchen and into the lounge, with the ever-growing blizzard of cotton puffs, bath salts, hand cream, mousse and blush in relentless pursuit. When she finally made it to the Muse gate outside, two things happened. The first is that the snow globe had finally played itself out, bringing both the tune and the avalanche of cosmetics to an abrupt halt, much to Polyhymnia's relief. This was followed closely by the return of the Sisters, who could only stare slack-jawed in amazement at the mountain of pots and canisters occupying their front yard with their baby Sister Poli seated on its summit. Clambering down from her perch, Polyhymnia explained what had happened while they were out and implored them to help find a solution to the problem before Mother returned. So they put their heads together and in no time they decided to enlist the aid of everyone in the Dreamscape to help them out in the following way. On Saturday and Sunday, the Muses will drop the canisters of Cotton Puffs, Bath Salts, Hand Cream, Mousse and Blush in the Muse Garden, Meditation Park (including Pan Mountain and the path to Second Kingdom), the Jungle and Second Kingdom. Take them with the Muses' blessings and their thanks for helping them clear the Muse Mansion of too many Muse Beauty Products. Drop Hunt
