Un Petit Oiseau m'a Dit ...

This reporter overheard an interesting exchange between the two birds outside Muse Garden gate last week. To be precise, Muse Calliope's bird was asking Muse Polyhymnia's bird for help with translating the following into rhyme:

I journeyed to the "rose-coloured arena" in my "scarlet sleigh" and, after removing the "parasite's snow gliders" from my chair, settled in to enjoy a day of winter sports with a glass of nicely chilled "mountain bordeaux".

There was an unavoidable short-track speed skating "race holdup" but the rough and tumble (if not exactly elegant) "bumpy game played with a puck" provided endless thrills and there were many cheers of 'fantastique!!' and 'merveilleux!!' when the racer in the "French red tobaggan" won the gold medal.

The equally exciting figure skating competion was marred only by the questionable "ice dancing ranking" of the judges and two "black birds made of ice crystals" nearly came to blows under the "verandah flame" over which of the "rodents made of frozen water" was the "more important ice dancer".

And of course, the two birds in the Morpheus Rose Garden East, who had been present at Parlour Games on Tuesday were happy to provide the key to the puzzle.

I journeyed to the "pink rink" in my "red sled" and, after removing the "flea's skis" from my chair, settled in to enjoy a day of winter sports with a glass of nicely chilled "alpine wine".

There was an unavoidable short-track speed skating "relay delay" but the rough and tumble (if not exactly elegant) "rocky hockey" provided endless thrills and there were many cheers of 'fantastique!!' and 'merveilleux!!' when the racer in the "luge rouge " won the gold medal.

The equally exciting figure skating competion was marred only by the questionable "skating rating" of the judges and two "snow crows" nearly came to blows under the "porch torch" over which of the "ice mice" was the "greater skater".

Of course our guests were on their toes as always, and even provided some rhyming riddles of their own, i.e.:
winter sports injury - ski knee (Lil' DD of Narnia)
careless jewelry - reckless necklace (DUSTY)
and
sad mystery - blue clue (JsBabe)

Please join Muse Erato and me, Muse Thalia every Tuesday in the Morpheus Rose Garden East for fun and games in the Parlour!
