Muse Urania and I were so excited for this week’s Parlour Games because Urania invented a new game to play! We are calling it “Dreamspeak Tales” whereby each player flips the dreamspeak cards and uses the picture that appears (i.e., cat) in a sentence to form a collective story! Our clever players caught on right away and even helped hone our new game.

As Parlour Games tradition has it, I recited a limerick to get things started:

Welcome to Parlour Games in our rose garden
Except for the Crash Family, I beg your pardon.
They hide in the green leaves
Then they kidnap us like thieves.
If they get me I hope my green helmet will harm them!
hehehe!

We began the game, players flipped the cards and used the following underlined words to make our stories (it was extra fun when folks flipped and got the same card):

Story #1
The little round sphere, looking like a ball of Yarn rolled down the hallway. It rolled past the lounge door where Fluffy the cat was stretching after a long morning sleeping in the sun. Up in a nearby tree, the owl was staring to see if the ball would wake up the cat. The cat found that an open chest was a nice place to sleep. (Except when the chest was closed there was nowhere for him to peek!) Walking through the woods I found a cat hanging upside down by a rope, in a tree, howling! Lovely ferns abound in our jungle.
THE END

Story #2
I took my lil puppy for a long jungle walk. Of course I had to leave my computer unattended. An upside down Owl swang from a tree and wildly beckoned me to hoot, hoot wee!!! Up in the dark sky there were several twinkling spheres. I tried to make out shapes in the stars but all I could see were hearts. When suddenly in the heavens, I saw the shape of a cat! My heart was beating very fast. As I finished my artichoke heart... it made my heart beat even faster! But as I stared at the stars, they suddenly formed a skull shape. The end is near...
THE END

Story #3
My prize winning owl flipped over. Just as sudden as he turned over, the owl turned back over again! My owl is very dear to my heart. But closer to my heart is my dear Teddy. When I can't sleep I sit in the window with my teddy and watch the owl flying in the moonlight. And my little puppy watches in the window with me. If I still cannot sleep I will get on Dreamscape in
my computer and chat with my friends. Because my heart belongs to Dreamscape!
THE END

What fun we had! After a big round of applause, and lots of thanks to Urania for our new game, we gave out our looking glass appreciation gifts. Please join me, Muse Thalia and Muse Urania every Thursday at 4:00 WAT in Morpheus Rose Garden East for more fun in the Parlour!
