New Beginnings

January 8, 2008

As it was the the first gathering of the New Year it seemed approiate that our topic be new beginings. We discussed the New Years Party that was provided for the citizens of vzones. Everyone had good things to say about the celebration.  We were joined by many of our friends and had some lovely poems recited.

Tabitha shared a lovely poem by Gertrude B. McClain...

It's only the beginning now
...a pathway yet unknown
At times the sound of other steps
...sometimes we walk alone
The best beginnings of our lives
May sometimes end in sorrow
But even on our darkest days
The sun will shine tomorrow.
So we must do our very best
Whatever life may bring
And look beyond the winter chill
To smell the breath of spring.
Into each life will always come
A time to start anew
A new beginning for each heart
As fresh as morning dew.
Although the cares of life are great
And hands are bowed so low
The storms of life will leave behind
The wonder of a rainbow
The years will never take away
Our chance to start anew
It's only the beginning now
So dreams can still come true.

Faith
by lil dusty

Hope held deep inside
Guarded from self greed and pride
Love within reside.

New beginnings start
Love and faith within each heart
Allowing harm depart.

Rejoice this new year
Granting blessings far and near
Banish Hate and fear.

Group Poem
New Beginings

This is the New Year, I think it's grand...
for New Year's bring new beginings.
Many things we would like to start...
refreshing mind and heart.

Let's pray for peace in all God's land,
We'll celebrate and have the biggest party in the land.
With all our loving memories of the past...
and love that will forever last.

Joy in our hearts mixed with much laughter,
lets share our love with one another.
Like the first baby born to the New Year...looks with eyes wide with
wonder.

Give thanks and cherish our friends and family.
A time for reflecting and making plans...
and fulfilling them all with love in the New Year to come.
Embrace the new beginings for they are the start of new dreams too.

We look forward to joining our friends again next Tuesday in Theatre View. The topic shall be warm winter clothing (ie. scarfs, mittens and soft warm mufflers). Please be sure to join us at 11:00am wat.
