Open Poetry

January 13, 2009

Today we shared poems that we liked, that spoke to us, that suited the occasion. We had open sharing. As always the poetry was well written and recited with enthusiasm.

Winter Thoughts
by DUSTY

Bundle up tight
For a romping snowball fight
Hat scarfs mittens gloves
All trussed up like turtledoves
winter wonderland to see.
Making snow angels for you and me.

Santa's sleigh has come and gone
Lights no longer twinkle on the lawn
Passing cold and cloudy days
Snuggled beside a fire's blaze.

With quiet dreams of summertime
Penning thoughts into rhyme
Thank you Lord for snowflakes fall so light
And sunshine sparkles on the frost so bright.

Believe
by Sunryze

A faerie flew in my window when it was left open wide
she landed on my finger and invited me on a ride
she took me to a land where gnomes and goblins play
where knights and dragons fought all day
i wish i could have stayed
we took a ride on a butterfly
drank nectar from a flower
we were playing tag with pixies when we noticed the hour
through my window into my room
i turned to watch her leave
she smiled and said i will return
because... you believe.

Snowman Games

by Lil' DD of Narnia

Frosty came again today
We dressed him up so bright n gay
To sing and dance with me at play
Dodging snow balls in the frey
Ice faeries pray,
Keep it cold,So he can stay.

Inspiration

by Muse Urania

What inspires you and me?
The smile of a child
the touch of a loving hand,
A strong belief system.
A golden sunset on the beach,
A cool crisp mountain morning,
that illusive success
just out of reach,
A desire to improve,
to help, to teach,
Inspiration comes
in many shapes, many forms
It is multi-colored
and mega textured,
It is the air we breathe,
the love we feel,
the awe we express to the Creator.
