Warm Kitchens and Winter Comfort Food

January 29, 2008

Our topic today was ‘Warm Kitchens & Winter Comfort Food ’ (which made us all feel very hungry). We spoke about our favorite food at during the winter and had a few poems about tasty food.

Warm Kitchen Smells
by Muse Urania

Warm winter kitchens...
smelling of fresh bread,
are the very best, when my cheeks
are chilly and red.
Winter winds are blowing
Jack frost at the door,
my tummy is warmed and glowing,
just smelling the kitchen warmth.
Good things are cooking...
dinner, desert and a treat,
and a specil bonus...
the oven's wonderful heat!

"The Nose"
By Nike

The nose is like a friend to us
The way it gives us clues
It tells us whats for breakfast,,
Lunch and dinner too
It shields the mouth from falling rain
We could not live without the nose, and like the nostrils too

Winter Comfort Food

Group Poem

Ovens on, grandma’s baking, can hardly wait!
She told us to wash, be quick not late.
We almost tripped over each other running back,
warming smells of cinnamon and spice floating our way.
We climbed all over each other to get a seat at the table
sniffing the sweet smells makes out tummy's rumble.

Please join Muse Urania and Muse Melpomene next week for more poetry and fun at 11am WAT in Theatre View. Our topic will be ‘Chocolate’
