Thoughts of Love

January 31, 2006

Giggles and gaffahs were abundant in Poetry Corner this morning. It is always a fun hour to visit with our friends. Among those giggling was Lindy Lou (accompanied by King Arthur, and Lady Gwen), Dandelion, Kizza, The Magician, Dox, Wasser B. Maus, Stitcher, Dipper, DustyBrat of Narnia, Lady Dusty of Narnia, and Lucylaffsalot.

Our topic was dating/sweethearts.... and as was expected there were several amorous poems, but also many that were lighthearted. Dandelion began;

My Date
by Dandelion

I went ta a garden party
wif my handsome date.
We scurried and hurried,
yet still we were late.
**
We were very hungry,
we really wanted to eat.
Sadly there was nuffin left,
'cept old pickled pigs feet.
**
That didn' sound appealing,
certainly not a good taste!
So, we left for Taco Bell,
rushing off in hurried haste!
**
It's time to go home now,
our bellies are full.
This date has been great,
cerainly not dull!

WA SweetHeart
by DustyRose

You rescued my heart
When it was lost,
Nestled it safely
When it was tossed,
Brought it home warmed
From a chilling fros.
~*~
In your special care
I've learned again to love,
And embrace love,
And embrace life
With a spirit above,
Soaring upon heights
Peaceful as a dove.
Dedicated to Woodsy & Bernie

Untitled
by Lucylaffsalot

You taught me how to laugh again
And gave me back my smile,
Restored my faith in people when
Everyone seemed vile.
You were as if the sun came up
Upon my bitter night
And bade the blackness rustle up
Some joyful morning light.
And inexplicably my heart
rose up and twirled me round
So sudden in it's expert art
I scarely touched the ground.
With you I am still filled with light
And all my feelings dance.
You are my song, my wings, my flight,
My truth and my romance.

Ode to Dande

by Journalist

roses are red
and daffodils are pink
Dande is the first piggy
to cheer insteasd of oink!

In the Spring

by Muse Urania

In the Spring, so it's been told,
When trees bud young,
And flowers bold...
push forth from earthy beds,
A young heart also awakens.
**
Deer and birds and creatures all
Pay heed to Nature's reproducion call,
Although, above this call we stand,
Still is the inclination...
to enter in.
**
And so we see love blooming,
roses cut for their stem...
to become an offering,
A young man's heart within.

Lulu's Poem
by Lindy Lou

I'm a lil love bug
It's plain to see.
And mine you will be!
thats all

Shadows in Moonlight
by The Magician

The shadows cast by sunlight have sharp edges!
Therefore we see only the real world!
The shadows cast by moonlight are softer,
and more diffused.
By moonlight, we see other lands of magic and mystery.
For example, I have recently returned from the Kingdom of Narnia.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Ask me out
Bet I date you!!!!

Untitled
by Dox

Roses are red
Violets are blue
if you ask ME out
you will be purple and bloo too(frown)!

Untitled
by Dipper

Somebody loves you
Far more than you know
With a love that keeps growing
As days come and go...
Somebody needs you
To make life worthwhile
Needs your warn touch
And the joy of your smile.
