Love for Family and Friends!

February 2, 2010

Our topic this week was Love for Family and Friends!

Unfortunately as I was painting the picture for this week the Minister's Cat jumped upon my lap and splattered paint all over me and my painting! No tuna for him this week!
As I started my second painting I thought it fitting to paint a picture of the blue hearts in the theatre as the topic was about love. But then it made me sad because I was alone! All of our friends during poetry were feeling quite ill and Uri kept getting stolen to do the Crash Family's laundry! Goodness what an event.

Needless to say, we had some very lovely poems about family, friends and love.

DUSTY was the first to share one of her very own creations.

Friendship unites separate parts

The melting of two lonely hearts
Of visions shared with those who cared.
Securely pressed between my minds pages
Saved deep within for the ages.

Sunryze then shared one for her sweet brother

MY Baby Brother

He's my friend He's my clown
He's the one I treasure most
He's the one who makes me proud
he's the one of whom I boast
he's memories, he's laughter,
He's sadness,and some tears,
for when he's not around me
who's to lift away my fears
A brother is so special
But my baby brothers more
who else could just say "nothing"
and have you laughing for more
Who can lift you from depression,
and make every moment fun.
Who can make you feel special,
even if you havent won,
You are so special to me.
I hope you will agree
No brother, sister friendship
could come close to you and me .

Uri shared one that was written by our dear Erato...

FRIENDSHIP
By Muse Erato

How do we go out and face the world is the Same question as how do we pick our friends?
Dearly, like gems, carefully, like flowers
Being lovingly cultivated in the garden and nourished to grow
The moments we remember best Stay with us like a daisy-chain;
Like a necklace made of flowers,
Worn with familiarity and love, and close to the heart.
We arrange them until they become something beautiful And walk out into the world holding hands
Holding fast going through thick and thin,
True blue friends as long as our lives last
God made the World with a Heartful of Love, Then He looked down from Heaven Above,
And saw that we all need a Helping Hand, Someone to Share with, Who'll Understand.
He made Special People to see us through The Glad times and the Sad times, too;
A Person on whom we can always Depend,
Someone we can call a Friend!

DD of Narnia then blessed us with another of her Roses are Red poems.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Real friends like family
Are ever true.

Uri shared a wonderful poem that Momma had written about her wonderful daughters

The Muses
By Momma

Nine daughters
All different in their own way
Studious yet playful
Encouraging and helpful
All here to promote the arts
And Welcome in friendship
Those who venture into our gardens

I shared a very wise saying...
Children are not things to be molded.
They are people to be unfolded.

Sister then shared a lovely poem from the archives...

Friends, Friends Everywhere
By Decibel

These lands have a lot to be grateful for
Events to play and games to win (or lose)
Quests to follow either alone or with a friend,
Not too hard for even us men!
Turf hunts and hide and seeks to play,
Running around town searching frantically.
Unghosting as fast as you can hoping to be first to tag the persons
Repeatedly being second, me especially!
But the one thing that draws me to this land
Isn't the games or pixels to be had or found,
But the people I have met here both nice and awful
Make me love to be a part of this town.
I have many friends I've met in both Dreamscape and Second Kingdom
Both lands although unique and different
Have a special place in this little ferret's heart
And I believe with all that heart, that’s how it's meant! (To be)

Our poor dear friends were all feeling quite ill so we sent them home with a sweet puppy to cuddle with and with wishes to feel better soon!

My sister Urania and I hope to see you next week for Poetry Corner! The topic shall be Romantic Love in honor of Valentine's Day.
