All Things Purple

February 28, 2006

Muse Terpsichore was joined by Muse Melpomene at Poetry Corner on Tuesday. Among those who showed up to share their wonderful poems or to just listen included jojo, Telaina, DustyBrat of Narnia, CameoLace, LadyDusty Rose of Narnia and Kjata.

Kjata started off with something he found to share with the group on the topic this week, which was amethyst or anything purple.

Untitled
by Kjata

purple sits on a throne of loneliness
fragmented by angry red
then diluted by moody blue
An eroticism lent only by passion and royalty of these two
and purple frames the pictures of the past
that once created love so red
and once painted skies so blue
a discoloration baby, purple bruises me and you
leave off the purple rain, leave off the purple rain
our purple made us go insane
as blue as the darkened sea and red as bloodied veins
leave out the purple rain, leave out the purple rain
our purple made us go insane

Imagination Of A 3 Year Old
by CameoLace

Mommy, do you have my purple wings?
Mommy, do you have my purple wings?
Your purple wings?
Yes, Mommy, my purple wings.
I need them
No, my dear.
You don't have purple wings.
Can you make me purple wings, Mommy?
Sure, honey, but why do you need them?
I need my wings to fly to the sky
Cause I want catch me a helecopter.

Any Shade
by Trelaina

Amethyst, Florite, Ametrine
any of these
Lilac, heliotrope, hydrangea
lovely
Lavendar, purple, Violet
are for me
orchid, grape and plum
Any shade, you see,
is a purple person's fantasy.

Pansy and Iris Know

by Lady DustyRose of Narnia

Pansy n'Iris know
So shy and so passionate
purple is the best

Pansy n'Iris know
Superior to the rest
We love it the best.

Group Poem
by Everyone

Purple was allowed to take center stage
And perform for us in various shades
And let us see purple till the end of days
Thus we had to turn the page.
But remember always amethysts sweet ways
and plum's passionate days

Everyone in attendance received their choice of bear as a thank you for spending the hour with the Muses and sharing their poetry.

Please join Muse Terpsichore and Muse Urania on Tuesday mornings at 11am WAT at Theatre View for Poetry Corner.  The topic this week will be Kites.
