Wonderful Food

March 3, 2009

We had a scrumptious hour discussing comfort food. From Pizza to stuffing to pineapple filled dough balls we drooled through the hour. Maus escorted sister and I back to to our gate afterwards, and all was well. I then remembered that I had left my scarf by the pond and when I returned to retrieve it, I stumbled and dropped several pages of my notes in the water. Several of Fred's cousins were visiting, and they gobbled them up straight away. My apologies to the authors of the lost poems.

Pizza Poem
by Thirza

I had a little Pizza
All to myself
ate just about half of it
And the rest I put on the shelf
An Elf
Or possibly a son of mine
Had the rest.. or was it..
A dream
Someone else's to keep.
Or
did I eat it in my Sleep?
Lazily in my dream of Cheese toppings
Pepperoni.
Tomatoes
Onions, Peppers..
Revolved around in a heady mix
It is gone, and only left are the crumbs
A former existence.
Where there was Pizza , there is none now.
Alas Alack!
It will never be back! !!

Food
by Muse Erato

I looked into my ice box
And what did I see?
A loaf of bread, a jug of milk
And muffins to have with my tea!
There are eggs galore
Fresh fruits and vegetables too
There's red lean beef
With which to make a stew!
Oh the spices and sugars
Whole wheat flour as well
With which to make cookies and cakes
That is so enticing to our sense of smell!
As I looked into my ice box
And saw the abundance of food
I gave thanks to Our Lord
For providing us with all that is good!
