St. Patrick's Day

March 16, 2010

As it was the eve of St. Patrick's Day I'm certain that our usual friends were preparing for their festivities! I did have a couple of people join me and a few trickled in later. Sadly Uri was ill with an ailment that has yet to be identified.

Many of our friends were going to parties to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. As an ode to this I thought it appropriate to quote an old Irish saying.

Saint Patrick was a gentleman
Who through strategy and stealth
Drove all the snakes from Ireland
Here's a drinkee to his health!
But not too many drinkees
Lest we lose ourselves and then...
Forget the good Saint Patrick
And see them snakes again!

I do hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday and please join sister Urania and I for poetry next week in the garden!

Our topic for next week will be Wee Folk.
