Easter Celebration

March 25, 2008

What a great time we had sharing poetry, memories and recent experiences concerning Easter. We shared many memories of egg dipping... the stickers and paper stands of long ago, dip and swirl egg coloring, metal dipping rings and special crayons to decorate your eggs before dunking. Peeps, chocolate bunnies and Easter dinner were also part of our discussion.

Thank you Father for Flowers
by lil luvy

Dear Father ...thank you for the flower I hold in my hand..
it's oh so lovely...
I know you make it for all to see...
I know it beauty is not all for me...
the flowers grow wild for all to
behold...
and all are more precious than silver or gold..
they smell so sweet they feel so divine...
I thank for making so many so fine. a-men

"Decorating" Story
by cricket

OMG i remember this one Easter...
We were all dressed up in our Easter finery...
getting ready to go to church...
My Oldest daughter decided she had not had enough of egg coloring...
so in a flash she grabbed a bowl of coloring that we had used the night before........
and proceeded to paint the new dress........... saying...
"Look Momma ..I am an Easter egg for Jesus" LOL
Heck I took her to church all decorated.

Destiny also told a cute story about how Britny had collected a "brown, smelly, "egg" in her collecting basket when she was only two. It was not however an Easter Egg.

Easter Babies
by DustyRose of Narnia

Baby chicks are adorable
It's too bad they poop
And bunnies are so very cute
Unfortunately the multiply to boot
For Easter I like animals that cuddle 'n rest
The soft and fuzzy stuffed kind are perfect to my mind.

Group Poem

Easter is a great time of celebration,
with children dressed in their Easter outfits and bonnets. Baskets full of chocolate eggs
and many kinds of candies...
with the smell of Easter ham baking.
Our mouths water and tummies growl as we hurry home from church,
to help mother set the table for dinner.
We walk around in our finest clothes,
we can't wait to sit at the table where all the fabulous food is piled high.
But Easter parades are special too...
with floats of many colors they are beautiful to watch!
Most of all, we remember the sacrifice given for us!

Our topic this coming Tuesday shall be Jesters. Please be sure to join us in Theatre View, at 11:00am.
