Spring

Urania and I had taken a walk in the forest before our game of Poetry Corner. We found a lost little (brown, not pink) squirrel who required our assistance. You see, his tail was stuck under a rock that had slid in the mud and he was quite upset about it. Urania and I successfully freed him but he did require a bandage. After realizing we were almost late for Poetry, Uri sent me off to play while she made sure the squirrel got back to his home.

While our friends were waiting they were quite creative!

Sunryze and Maus came up with a sweet little song:

oh where oh where can our muse sisters be
oh where oh where can they be
with thier hair done right and their dresses tight
oh where oh where can they be
they could be cooking, they could be hooking
oh where of where can they beeeeeeee....

After we all settled in we decided to share poems or songs about spring weather.

Sunryze started us off with a poem she wrote:

Spring Rain
by Sunryze

S Splashy puddle jumpers fling
P Plunk, ping raindrops sing
R Robins take to thier nest
I Inchworms finnally get a rest
N Nothing's staying very dry
G Garden's drinking deeply ,,sighh

R Running children dodge the drops
A A froggy dose a belly flop
I Inside where its nice and warm
N Nana smiles at the storm

Blue shared with us that the flowers and the birds are her favorite things about spring.

Sunryze shared that snapdragons and lavendar are her favorite flowers.

Wasser B. Maus: <dreamy eyed> thinking of the pretty flowers!

I shared that my favorite flowers are tulips and sweetpea's.

Dolphy shared that the smell of fresh mowed grass was wonderful as well as the sun shining again.

Lita likes to plant tomatoes, cucumbers, raddishes and other vegetables.

Starchilde shared a poem with us about spring:

It's not that easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
But green's the color of Spring
The End

We then did our group poem...

spring brings all sorts of weather
Loud and quiet, breezy and delightful
things springing up and bounty growing
a little breeze of the wind that is blowing
and a bee that is visiting flowers

Please join us for Poetry Corner again next week! Our topic will be our favorite things in nature.
