Flowers that Bloom in the Spring

April 25, 2006

We all had a lovely time at Poetry Corner this week. Our topic was Spring Flowers and many of our friends arrived to share poetry concerning them. Wasser B. Maus, lil luvy, Dandelion, Jax, Tuppence, Stitcher, Journalist, and Starhawk were present.

Alas, as I was passing the pond, my foot slipped, and my painting and lil luvy's poem were lost. I will ask her to repeat it for us, and hopefully include it next week.

Dandelion was next to share a poem she had written.

My Spring Flowers
by Dandelion

I planted da flower bulbs in a very large pot.
Then I put them out front, where it wouldn't be too hot.
I watered them plenty, day after day.
Now they're really growing, this I can say!
Soon they will bloom so prety and bright.
The blossoms will last all through da night.
I'll admire the lovely blossoms one by one,
And think what a wonderful job nature had done.

Wee, Silly Little Poem

by Stitcher

Roses are red,
Violets are blue, You did plant tulips,
didn't you?

Untitled
by Starhawk

Spring flowers on a hill
I wish I had some on my window sill
lovely petals of white
ohhh what a sight
I love them all with a will.

A Spring Haiku

by W. B. Maus

Deep dark red of velvet touch
Light white blossoms breathing out to us
Ancient Stardust from Earth's Container!

Group Poem

Red and yellow, pink and blue,
Pretty colors like the dew
they also come in purple too
Lovely green leaves, all anew
buds, and sprigs, promises of color
warm breezes wafing frangrances on dew
flowers bloom in the month of May
Flowers for delivery every day.

The topic for next weeks session shall be the May.  Please join us next Tuesday at 11:00pm wat in the Theatre View.
