Beautiful Trees

January 18, 2005

The Muses, and friends, gathered at the Theater View for poetry.  There was a bit of excitement in the air, as they had planned an adventure.  The poetry group planned to go to the forest to see the beautiful trees, and recite wonderful poetry about trees.

As an added feature, they were joined by Kymer's new member, Nature Sprite Fernie.  Kizza provided a tree, in keeping with the theme for the day.

Spring Woods Walk
by DustyRose of Narnia

Forest shady green
Thoughts wonder dreaming of spring
Vanishing the cold.

Remembering warmth
Sunshine dappled leaves above
And sweet moss below.

Waiting for the sun
Spring is yet a month away
Stay warm little heart.

Weeping Willow
by Trelaina

Willow tree mourning;
leaves like tears falling,
whom do you mourn for?
Whom are you calling...... to you?
My love has left me,
Has yours gone too?
Weep for me Willow
that my eyes may dry
Take my tears
and say goodbye to love for me.

After returning to the Theater View, a group poem was created about trees.

Tall and strong and ever breathing
are my branches over
head, reaching for the sun
with soft gentle breezes
the cool breeze makes the leaves flutter
dancing for all to see
Branches reaching to the skies
Where birds rest upon my boughs and fly free again.
Spring is sweet and warm
it warms my soul
and know that always high above me
God is looking down
on all the children on the ground below me
who would love to play among my branches
and hang a swing to play some more.
I lovingly shade them with my branches
and protect flowers from the sun.

Join the Muses next week for Poetry.  The poetry session is held at the Theatre View locale every Tuesday at 11am.
