What Dreams Are Made Of

February 22, 2005

This past week at Poetry Corner, Mother and Muse Erato shared and listened to many lovely poems about Dreams.

Dreams
By: Muse Erato

Visions of the mind
Whether sleeping in the night
Or mind wandering by day
Are Dreams

Dreams can be in colour
Or in black and white
They come while meditating by day
Or in your sleep at night

They are happy or sad
Frightening or mysterious
Very strange, making no sense
Rendering you delirious

So real they seem
Until you wake and realize
It was all but a Dream -
A little trick from your mind

From Dreams, stories can be made
Lessons can be learned
Wishes can come true
For things we have yearned

So follow your Dreams
Hitch onto that star
Using your head and heart
Your life can go far!

Seaside Dreaming
By Glory

Contemplating...
Quietly dreamin....
In the sun...
Riding the warmth...
Feeling the sun.
Then a splash...
A giggle...
I'm awake suddenly...
To see my granddaughter,
Laughing at me.

To Fly
By Trelaina

In my dreams
I can fly
Without fear of falling.
In my dreams
I am the bird
And the sky is calling.
I race across the clouds,
To touch the mountiantops.
I soar above the sea
To taste the salty spray.
I whirl within the winds
And watch the world go by.
In my dreams,
I fly.

GROUP POEM

Dreams, the stuff of enterprise,
Fuel our ambitions, sooth our emontions...
Inspires us to great things
Along the way they guide our paths
Transport us to far places in space and time
They can take us to a fantasy world
Far beyond and open to the imiginations
Showing us what lies deep within our subconscience
Written as we feel pain or joy
Making our lives more bearable or helping us through
The rough terrain to a shining shore or beautiful dawn
Striving to reach that dream place in whatever we do
Waiting for us to return to the wonderful world of dreams
Dreams are wishes
Deep in our hearts
Coming true or not - with mine I'll never part
Our souls take flight as dreams set us free

Please join Mother and Muse Erato on Tuesdays at 11am in Theatre View to
listen and share poems.

The theme for the next session is: Spring Bugs.
