Spring Flowers

May 13, 2008

We had a lovely gathering for Poetry Corner this week. Spring Flowers was our topic, the poems seemed to reflect the colors and smells of the spring buds. I searched the archives for several poems to inspire us, and the minutes quickly bloomed into an hour.

Peonies
by Trelaina

Peonies are best!
A rose above all the rest.
A scent of heaven.

Roses
by Muse Polyhymnia

Roses can whisper your true Love's name,
if you listen close,
Fragrant heartbeats, musically the same.

Untitled
by Tangerine

A flower is a beautiful thing
it can bring
Happiness and pleasure to one and all
large or small.

Untitled
by Trava

Morning sunshine smiles
Upon the day newborn
New beginnings of spring
Flowers are nature's notes
for the glorious
symphony of spring

Tulips
by Trelaina

Tulips tell of Spring
Fresh rains their flowers will bring
They make my heart sing.

Showers Bring Flowers?
by Lil' DD

April showers, so i'm told
Bring upon us May flowers
But in Missori who knows?
We only get tornados!!

Queen of the Flowers

by Trelaina

Bluebells bob,
Tulips tremble,
then they do it to a man.
Peonies politely nod,
As the wind walks by,
They wave her goodbye,
As she passes,
Gathering seed
To spread on fields nearby
Each do sigh,
Then hold their heads high.

Group Poem

The sight of so many flowers in bloom is awesome,
bikers, hikers, birds and bees all hum.
In spring we all have lots of fun
Running through flowers and along side gentle streams.
We echo the joy and colour of spring...
the sun shines gently warming the flowers,
hopefully we don't get spring showers.
The earth awakens with gentle sun and rain...
and we linger outside,
and watch the butterflies feast on sweet honeysuckle nector.

Please join us next Tuesday at Theatre View (11:00am wat), when our topic shall be Carnivals and Fairs.
