Flowers Bloom at Poetry

May 17, 2005

Buds was the topic at this week's poetry session. Joining Muse Urania and Prophetess Mnemosyne were Trelaina, Luvheart, LindyLou, Wasser B. Maus, Glory, DustyRose of Narnia, Margo, Le@p Frog, and woodsy. Several people brought their own poems with them.

Buds and Blossoms
by Glory

Everywhere I look and see,
New life, flowing, growing, free...
Trees are budding, flowers growing,
vegetables little noses showing.

Sprouts of fruits, and baby trees,
Vines, cacti and shrubberies,
And even,( can I say it?) showing,
sprouts within tummies growing.

Baby squirrels, and cats, and fishes,
mama's dreams and daddy's wishes,
a time of new living, new beginning,
future's promise, the past forgiven.

**DREAMING**
by Luvheart

As January comes around,
so cold and lots of snow covering the ground,
You find yourself thinking about the year that past
A year, you cannot change and went by so fast.
Life is hectic nowadays,
everyday that same quick pace.
New years resolutions so well made, by an adult or a child
start off so well, but later in the year run wild.

Come March, you feel really blue
and dream of summer, the favorite season for you
In April things are looking better
sometimes you feel it already, that sunny weather.

Spring is in the air,
it does funny things to people every year
You start again: a new beginning, you feel it in your blood
The coming months are going to be good.

The trees welcome you with their green coats
Birds are back singing wonderful notes
Children playing together in their yards,
People come closer, not hidden far apart.

Gardens show colourful blooms of flowers,
leaving a nice smell, lasting for hours,
Also the aroma of fresh cut grass hangs in the air,
Mix everything together and it will last you all year!

From the past you cannot change a thing,
but look on the bright side of all the good a new spring can bring.
Lots of sunshine, especially in your heart does wonders for you
and others too.

The bud of an orchid is lovely to see,
A rose bud, pink flowers in a cherry tree,
But the very best blossom to harvest this fall
Is a spirit in bloom that shines light on us all.

BUDS
by Trelaina

Beginning of life
Unfolding of life's pathways
Decisions of destiny made
Starting now.

Roses are red
violet are blue
Babies cry
and mamas coo.

Love
by Wasser B. Maus

Rose are Red
Trees ever Green
One thing can be said
Always towards you I lean!

The hour ended with the group poem. Please join us next week when the topic will be Spring Fever.

Buds
by the Poetry Attendees

The first color of spring
shows a new beginning
lovely buds of roses and tulips around
Telling one and all that Spring is near
Whispering in lilac scented breeze
Newborn fragrances traveling far
their scent too strong for any to mar
Spring buds are the promise of a new beginning for us all
The seeds spreading as a carpet of hope
we see a new spring arise
opening to the sun's warmth
we open our hearts as well
as the buds continue to swell
and blooms are among us
we praise the heavens above
the sights and sounds of heavenly bliss, such a time to be shared and not missed
thank you for the blessings of spring
