Heroes

May 26, 2009

My friends, Sister Urania and I were very humbled to hear about Hero's that have touched the lives of our friends in some way. It was a very nice tribute to our Hero's for Memorial Day. It was all agreed that Hero's are not only those brave men and women who have fought terrorism and freedom for us all but a Hero can also be our very own friend or family member. A Hero can be someone that makes you smile and is there for you always or someone you just type to on your computer. Please take a moment and read what our friends have shared with us and have allowed me to share with you.

Please join us at our next Poetry Corner session on Tuesday, June 2nd at 11:00am wat, where our topic will be Spring Cleaning! This should be very delightful as to hear what and how everyone's cleaning chores are or....not <s>

Here are some names that were mentioned as Hero's: WavyGravy who established Rainbow camps for Kids, Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon, Gandi, Florence Nightengale, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington who was a man of great faith, Buck Rogers <giggles>, Pollyanna, Helen Keller, Anne Frank, Rosa Parks, Princess Diana, General Patton.

IT JUST TAKES ONE...
By: Stu

I have not one person in particular but to all those people out there that do there selfless acts for others day after day and go unnoticed.

Dusty
By: Lady Songbird SK Elf

I would like to say something and I think it is the right time for it.
I'd like to say that Dusty and I have similar medical problems, and
she discusses new things with me. For all that Dusty has been through,
she has been a real inspiration to me and a dear friend.
We here in Dreamscape, should look past everyone's quirks,
no matter how big or small or whether they annoy us or not, but to
see what that person has inside that they can share and give to us.
To Dusty, Thank you for being my friend and Hero and to others.

Alone in Bastogne
By: Feellicks

17,000 in Bastogne, cold and alone.
Fog ice and rain, groans of pain.
Wwhite christmas red snow, praying from icy foxholes.
Frozen death confirms, five of deuce held firm.
A call to the defenders, you must surrender.
A one word reply, spoken on the sly.
Another night goes by, screaming eagles ready to die.
Then it happened, in came Patton.
Pass the word, its the third, old blood and guts.

A PRAYER FOR THE COUNTRY TORN APART
A Tribute to all the Hero's of September 11th
Written by: MJ

Let me sleep tonight, So that in the morning I may fight.
On guard I will be, my body shall not know ease.
Sunlight will bring little comfort for the pain and despair.
On my knees I shall pray for the coming of a better day.
As to God I do ask: "Please Lord end the suffering of our friends.
Hold us tight, keep us safe, as we hold you sacred, again today.
They too know wrong from right. Even as they were upon the flights.
We are a nation that has been struck with much devastation.
As we heal, we leave so much to you. In your arms is where we are true.
You love is with us as ours is with you. Pray that you guide us to help in every way possible.
To show the world that we come together instead, of drifting a part."
