Waves and Foam

June 15, 2010

We had such a wonderful relaxing meeting, our topic was 'The Beach". Sixteen citizens of Kymer and Second Kingdom came to Poetry corner to share. It seems everyone but LindyLou (who gets sun poisoning- poor dear) loves to relax on the warm sand and feel the sun upon their face.

Many were the comments about sun, sand and spray. Laurie SK shared a lovely poem by William Andrewarta and Mel shared a poem by Lindia Harnett. There were also an abundance of original poems, however the wind from the cavern opening caught my notes as I returned home, and I fear a page went missing. My sincerest apologies if your poem was upon that page. Below are the original poems I retained.

Dawn PEOPLE
by Nienna

Before the sun rises
entirely up in the sky
and everyone runs out
chasing waves or sun bathing
some like to sneak out
and just listen to the waves

Untitled

by Hollee

I like the sun,
I like the sand,
I like the beach...
and for all it stands.

Magic Beach
by Wasser B. Maus

Shuddering beach under our feet...
waves crashing like thunder,
Air filled with water,
both salty and foggy, what a wonder.

Pugg's Unthick Poem
by Puggs

I miss the wind upon my face
the seaweed caught between my lace
the sun shining through crack & Crim
upon my neck and sweaty grin
the cool and dank rock pool life
that silly sun melting ice
but far away from sand and sea
is not where I'm supposed to be
so read the writing in the sand
it's really how you'll understand
that far away as I may go
there's always one thing within reach
the loving memory I adore
my joyous beautiful sunny BEACH

Pool Days
by DD of Narnia

Waves roll in and out
Inner tubes and water wings
Children squeal and shout

Summer sun sizzles
Cool blue water shimmers
Running jumping SPLASH!!!

Untitled
by Nementon

rain kissing my face...
waves crashing on rocks...
storms on the water
this is my place <bow>

Swimming Accident
by Lionel Hutz

Here I am at the ocean
swimming 'round in the sea.
I look so cool with these swim shorts on.
Along comes a wave and oh, no, they are gone.
Now I can't get out of the water.
I'll dive to find what I need.
Then I'll walk right on to the beach
wearing just seaweed.

Please do join us this coming Tuesday for Poetry corner, the topic shall be Summer Storms. We shall be meeting at 11:00am in Theatre View.
