A Valentine's Hanging

What a wonderful surprise! Muses Euterpe and Terpsichore arrived at Muse Pond to find a crowd waiting for them. It was truly a wonderful thing as Terpsichore had high hopes of hanging Euterpe. She even procured a rope in the color aqua for the occasion.

With love (and all things red) on her mind, Terpsichore had a list of Valentine's gifts to be discovered letter by letter. All with the hope that she could outwit their guests and Euterpe would hang.

The crowd seemed to be divided on whether or not Euterpe should be saved. Feellicks tried guessing the first letter of the first word as Z but changed his mind to A. This did not help and Euterpe lost an arm. After losing only an arm and a leg, DD guessed Cherry Pie and saved Euterpe.

In the next round, Euterpe hung on with only one leg and no arms until Sierra guessed Red Wine. As this round progressed Ginro explained to us that our new player, Sandra_Jp, was from Japan and that he was translating for him. Sandra_Jp was reluctant to guess any phrases as he did not want to see Euterpe hurt.

At the start of the third round Xie guessed the letter A and right off Euterpe lost an arm. Guessing the letter A seemed to be a sure way for Euterpe to lose a limb. Euterpe lost a leg quickly after that and then their guests stepped up to the plate and only guessed good letters. Terpsichore was disappointed that a 2 word phrase with 10 letters didn't hang Euterpe. Feellicks made the final guess of a Dozen Roses to save the day.

Terpsichore seemed to be getting frustrated about the lack of a hanging so she pulled out all the stops with a 3 word phrase containing 27 letters. She even changed her hint from a Red Valentine Gift to a Mostly Red Valentine Gift. The crowd confirmed that surely with 26 letters in the alphabet there had to be a good chance of guessing correctly. The chances got slimmer as it was discovered that 4 of the letters were E. The letters D and R were also good leading Xie to guess Chocolate Dipped Strawberries and Euterpe left completely intact.

For the last round Terpsichore chose a 2 word phrase with 8 letters. Dolphy guessed first and just wanted to check to see if there was not an A in the words. Alas, there was not and Euterpe lost an arm. E was guessed next and Euterpe lost a leg. She began to fear that the words had no vowels and her life would be lost. Sandra_Jp guessed an I and there was much relief at the Pond that the letter was there. Euterpe lost another arm with the guess of the letter S before feellicks guessed the phrase Ruby Ring. Of course this caused Sierra to suggest that this would be a lovely gift for her on Valentine's Day.

The hour ended with Terpsichore and Euterpe giving each guest a New Puppy Love puppy to take home and keep them company.
