The gardens were overflowing with flowers, Spring had arrived and the Muse sisters were seeing bunnies everywhere. In the spirit of Spring's arrival, several of Potpourri's guest were sporting rabbit ears. Even Terpsichore had a pair of red rabbit ears. Euterpe had decided upon a game of 5 and Dime, her topic being all things spring. Her guests took turns sharing 5 things by the count of ten. Skye gave us 5 Signs of Spring: Flowers, Bushes, Trees, Birds, Leaves, Bunnies, Sun, Clouds, Nests. She was so excited she gave us nine signs. Maiden listed 5 Spring Flowers: Roses, Daffodils, Tulips, Iris, Peonies. DD shared 5 Children's Outdoor Games: Tag, Yellow Duck, Steal the Bacon, Red River, Hopscotch. Nementon wondered what Yellow Duck was, but DD never explained. Wert, who wore a fish on his head, had to tell 5 Breeds of Fish: Goldfish, Guppy, Bluefish, Swordfish, Perch, Sunfish, PANFISH yummmmm. The last is the kind you fry up in the pan. Dusty gave us 5 Spring Chores: Pruning, Planting, Cleaning Filters, AC Checkup, Storm Windows (cleaning). Tiny Pet gave us 5 Spring Holiday Foods: (In Dutch) Eieren, Tulband, Boterlam, Sinasappel sap, Zout en Peper. The translation is: Eggs, Sweet Bread in a ring shape, butter in the shape of a lamb, Orange juice, Salt and Pepper. Wert suggested Dutch Apple Pie. Nementon told of 5 Spring Sports for Adults: Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Stream Fishing, Crabbing. Many did not realize crabbing was a sport. Euterpe asked if it was that competitive. Nementon said it was if you were selling it. Megret listed 5 Things the Easter Bunny Brings: Eggs, Candy, Baskets, Fake Grass, Toys. Tiny Pet and Euterpe wondered aloud; "Weeeeeeed??" Megret explained it was plastic, fake grass to line the basket with. Apparently, in Holland the Easter Bunny does not bring fake grass when he comes. DD assured her that (in America), "we got fake everything". Dolphy joined the group and gave 5 Things You Tend to Leave Outdoors: Bike, Dog, Sleigh, Car, Kids. Nisi shared 5 Things You See At A Wedding: Flowers, Cake, Bride, Groom, Minister. Muse Euterpe thought that was too easy, but she never gave out any really hard ones. Terpsichore kept teasing her to give out some evil ones. Euterpe gave out another easy one to Dolphy; 5 Pets: Cat, Dog, Horse, Rabbit, Bird. She thought she was clever with the next one. She asked Skye for 5 Pets Without Hair: Fish, Birds, Pigs (whoops, they have hair), Penguins, Cats; the hairless kind, and Turtles. This one turned out easier than Euterpe thought. Euterpe gave Megret the category of 5 Red Foods: Tomato Juice, Beets, Rare meat, Kool-Aid, Red Frosting. Terpsichore hopped up and down at all the red things, but couldn't believe she didn't mention strawberries or cherries or apples. The game continued for another round or so with the players listing and laughing at some of the suggestions. Euterpe encouraged them to come by the Muse Pond next Wednesday for more Potpourri Games and wished them a wonderful weekend. |
