Lady Songbird SK Elf raced Muse Terpsichore to stand next to the spray of the pond today, she was looking forward to a fun game. Muse Terpsichore had bought with her a list of flower names and a wild idea for a game. The two chatted about the recent Easter holiday, of bunny hunts and eggs while the group gathered for the game. As the arrived, Muse Terpsichore explained that the Muses had been very busy in their spring gardens with new plantings. Sadly Muse Euterpe was stung by a frightened bee, having been disturbed from the flowers he was helping to pollinate. It was decided best she stay abed and rest. Meanwhile, Muse Terpsichore saw her chance to try out her new guessing game, Hang-A-Muse. She explained that it was similar to the traditional game of Hangman, where players take turns choosing letter to fill in a chosen word or phrase, before the poor stick man character looses all his limbs to a gallows. The character consisting of 6 parts, allowed the players only six wrong guesses, before the round was over and the character was hung. She began with the clue, it was a flower name with 7 letters and the guessing began. Britney began with the letter A, Dest!ny added E, of which there were two, and then the trouble started. The players were looking at: A_e_ _ _e, and guessing wrong. Muse Terpsichore was looking worried, until Lady Songbird Sk Elf guessed the flower name was Anemone. The next round started with Sadee and a flower name of 9 letters. The players were quick to fill in: B_ _ebe_ _s. With only two wrong guesses, DUSTY correctly guessed Bluebells and saved the Muse. Round three was a close call with a flower name of 8 letters that proved to be a bit trickier. Sadee had guessed the letter A, and they were up to the left arm before another letter was added. Brittany of Narnia added the letter E to the puzzle and DD of Narnia added the letter I. The word was still a strange puzzle: _a_e_ _ia. They were up to the left leg, with only one wrong guess left, when Terpsichore cried out, "Don't hang this innocent Muse!" The players begged for a clue. They were told that they had gotten all of the vowels in the word and that the flower was in the rose family. This helped and the players began filling in the consonants, until Dent!ny guessed the final letter M, revealing the word to be Camellia. The last round was not so lucky. The players took turns guessing at the 7 letter flower name only to come up with the last two letters: _ _ _ _ _ia. The players tried a different tact and were guessing flower names, such as Begonia and Freesia, instead of letters. Muse Terpsichore decided it was wise to allow this to count as one wrong guess rather than a total loss, especially since they were up to her left leg. The players had miss guessed the letters: T, M, and P. Soon she would swing if they didn't solve the puzzle. The Players tried their best, but it was a tragedy. The mystery flower was Fuchsia. Brittany of Narnia's last guess of the letter E had hung the poor Muse. The players were very sad and very sorry, but begged to play again. They tried to coax the Muse to stay another hour, but she needed check in on her sister Euterpe. She shared Muse Euterpe's Bath Oils with everyone and promised to bring back their well wishes for her quick recovery. Muse Terpsichore hopes everyone will join her and Muse Euterpe next Wednesday at noon, by the Muse Pond for more fun, perhaps she'll continue with more Hang-A-Muse. |
