Muse Terpsichore had spent some time over the last week reading a very, very large book and decided to base Wednesday's game on it. She had found Mother's Thesaurus and became quite engrossed in it. Terpsichore also knew that Euterpe had been having some troubles finding quite the right word for things and thought this game might inspire her. The name of the game was Guess the Synonym. As their guests gathered to play Terpsichore informed them that this would be a test game to which Wert answered, "A A A C D True True 42 A C C C Yes." Then Terpsi had to explain that it was not an actual test, but just a new game she was testing out. The premise of the game was that Terpsi would give a clue and the players had to figure out what word she was thinking of by guessing words. Naturally she started with an easy clue, or was it? Her clue was Blackberry Winter. As you can imagine most players looked for words that had to do with the winter and the cold. Terpsi needed to give a second clue after everyone had guessed once and this helped quite a bit as the clue was Budding. Right away the correct answer of Spring was given. Dolphy was first in line to guess a new word from a new clue. She was very nervous as english is not her first language. Terpsi gave the clue of Cat and Dog Weather and Dolphy got very excited. She had learned in school that that meant Rain. Terpsichore went from difficult to easy and thought carefully about the next word she was looking for. She gave a clue of Barrage and suddenly the locale was full of shooting and bombing. It did not take Skye long to discover the word Terpsi was looking for was Thunder. The next clue for a new word Terpsi was looking for was Blizzard. The room suddenly gave up a cry for an ice cream treat from a place called Dairy Queen. This was not the answer Terpsi had imagined. It took a while, but Sierra guessed Tempest and was correct. As the game went on everyone discovered that Air was another word for Wind and Brilliant is another word for Sunny. After much laughter the game ended with everyone taking home one of Mother's Teacup Fuzzies. Please join the Muses next Wednesday at 9am at the Muse Pond for more Muse Potpourri. |
