Whatever the weather will be, we'll all have fun! That's just what Muse Euterpe was thinking as she began hosting a game of Weather Words. Muse Euterpe excitedly explained that she would give each player a letter of the alphabet and they would roll a die to see how many weather words they would have to come up with. Euterpe was feeling charitable and did not require the words to begin with the letter, just that the letter be included in the word. The only catch was that there could be no repeated words. Muse Terpsichore kept track of the words used. Adin, a new player to Potpourri, got the game rolling with the number two on the die. Euterpe gave her the letter G. Adin thought for a few moment and offered the words: foG and drouGht. Sadee, who was wearing mini robes and calling herself a musette, was next with the letter T and the number three. Her weather words were: Thunder, sleeT and Temperature. DD of Narnia had two words with the letter E. She shared: hEat and sunshinE. Lady Cottington, who was fascinated by all things aqua, had earlier presented Euterpe with an aqua watering can. She eagerly took her turn at Euterpe's aqua die, and rolled a four. Lady Cottington, quite taken with Euterpe's aqua die, was stroking it quite possessively, while Euterpe explained the rules of the game to Dolphy who had just arrived. She was brought out of her daze by the letter N and gave the words; air pollutioN, avalaNche, sNow, and torNado. Dusty was next and rolled a four also. Euterpe gave her the letter O and Dusty quickly came back with: cOol, cOld, snOwy and hOt. Dolphy joined in now, her letter was H. She also rolled a four. She chose the words: Hail, Haze, Heat and Heavy storm. Unfortunately, Heat had already been use. Dolphy was the first to repeat a word and now had to think of a fifth weather word for the letter H. She was quick to replace it with Humidity. After this first round, Muse Euterpe thought that maybe it was too easy and decided it was time to pull out another die. Terpsichore gleefully offered her's. Muse Euterpe gave Adin the letter D. Adin rolled a combined number five and feeling confident, called out: Dusty, Dew, Drizzle, flooD and thunDer. She was caught as the second person to have repeated a word. She replaced thunDer with tiDal wave. Sadee rolled a combined 7 and was given the letter L. She thought for awhile before sharing; Low, gaLe, bListering, cLoudy, Lovely, Limp and cumuLus. She explained that Limp, was a Limp hair day. DD of Narnia was give the letter S and also rolled a 7. Her words were: Summer, Sunrise, Seasonal, Sleeting, Snowing, Summertime and Sunset. Lady Cottington rolled the biggest combined number of the game. With the number 10 and the letter A, she decided to try her luck at choosing words without having Terpsichore repeat the words used already. She did very well with the first seven words; sAndstorm, Aurora borealis, condensAtion, eArthquake, evAporation, flAsh flood, and glAcier. Then she re-used the word hAil, but quickly replaced it with hAze. She finished her list with; indiAn summer and lA nina. Euterpe gave Dusty the letter M and Dusty rolled a lucky three. Dusty chose Mist, huMid and Monsoon. Dolphy finished the final round by rolling a combined 6. Euterpe gave her the letter I and Terpsichore listed the words used so far. Fog, Drought, Thunder, Sleet, Temperature, Heat, Sunshine, Avalanche, Snow, Air Pollution, Tornado, Cool, Cold, Snowy, Hot, Hail, Haze, Heavy storm, Humidity, Dusty, Dew, Drizzle, Flood, Tidal Wave, Low, Gale, Blistering, Cloudy, Lovely, Limp, Cumulus, Summer, Sunrise, Seasonal, Sleeting, Snowing, Summertime, Sunset, Sandstorm, Aurora Borealis, Condensation, Earthquake, Evaporation, Flash FLood, Glacier, Hurricane, Indian Summer, La Nina, Mist, Humid, and Monsoon Dolphy chose: Ice, Ice storms, la nIna, lIghtening, raIn, and raInbow and then chose sprIng to replace la nina, which Lady Cottington had said earlier. The players had weathered the weather word game and had come out sunshine and smiles. The Muses shared Prophetess Mnemosyne's Bath Oils with them and wished them all a beautiful day. The Muses hope you can join them for more Potpourri games at the Muse Pond locale, every Wednesday at 9am WAT. |
