Themed Picnic

Muse Terpsichore was so delighted by the weather getting warmer everyday that she and Muse Euterpe decided to have a picnic at Muse Potpourri.

She was feeling a little devilish so she decided there were definite rules about who could and could not attend. The picnic goers were weeded out by what they decided to bring. If they did not fit within the secret theme, they could not attend.

Terpsichore would begin by stating what she was bringing and the guests had to decide from that very short list what they would bring.

Everyone watched as Terpsichore put Roses and Ladybugs in her basket followed by a few Apples. Sadee tried to bring peppers but Terpsichore was not convinced that she could attend yet. Terpsichore added Valentine Hearts to her basket along with a Cardinal. Sadee was invited to join the picnic when she brought some Red Hot Candies. After Terpsichore dropped some Cherries in her basket, Dusty handed her some Dreamberries and was invited to attend. DD brought some Cherry Tomatoes and everyone was off to the picnic. It almost seemed expected that Terpsichore had chose the theme of Red Things for her picnic.

For the next outing, Terpsichore dropped a Cygnet in her basket. Sadee quickly joined the picnic by bringing a Cloud. Dusty tagged along on the picnic by bringing Cotton Balls. DD was not allowed to attend the picnic until she peeled all the red potatoes in her Potato Salad. This time the group guessed that the theme was "White Things. Hmm, still the color of Terpsichore's robes.

Things got a little dicier when Terpsichore dropped some Asparagus and Artichokes in her basket. DD was allowed to join the picnic with the Green Bean Salad she had. Dusty brought Avocados and was not invited, nor was Sadee with her Lime Jello. Meanwhile, Terpsichore added Brussel Sprouts and Broccoli to the basket. Sadee was finally allowed to attend when she gave Terpsichore a head of Cabbage. Dusty brought out some Green Onions and she was invited along as well. After some guessing it was discovered that the theme was Green Vegetables.

There was still time for more picnicking so Terpsichore put some Lemons in her basket. Right away Sadee brought Limes and was invited along. DD showed up with a Grapefruit and Dusty brought Oranges and the picnic was off to a fine start. There was a bit of a snag about what the Theme was as the guess of Fruit was not correct. Soon it was deduced that it was a Citrus Fruit Picnic.

There seemed to be a chance to have one more picnic but Terpsichore was not going to go easy on the group. She gave Euterpe a shock when she dropped a Salamander in her basket along with a Newt. Was this some sort of witchy spell? Sadee joined the picnic with a Gecko while Terpsichore dropped a Frog in the basket. Dusty got an invitation when she showed Terpsichore a Turtle. Terpsichore dropped some Worms and and some Koi in the basket and invited DD along with the Pollywogs she brought. Dusty wanted to bring a snake which made Euterpe shiver in fear. Terpsichore let her bring it as it did fit the theme. It was now time to find out what the theme was. After a few wrong guesses Sadee was the closest with Things Found in a Pond. Terpsichore declared it was actually Pond Animals but that Sadee was very close.

Beware the next time a Muse invites you to a picnic because you never know what she may have in her basket.
