Mouldering Poetry

September 30, 2003

On Tuesday Muses Euterpe and Thalia hosted Poetry Corner in the dark and mysterious Blasted Heath at the Forgotten Idol.

The Muse sisters dashed through the spooky land and were relieved to be greeted by their Momma, the Prophetess Mnemosyne and an nice group of friends waiting to share a poem or just listen.

The Prophetess asked the Muse's guests to please contact her if they have previously taken the History Quest, because sadly a Big Wind came and blew all her notes right out of the Muse Quarters! If you have previously participated in the Muse History Quest please write to ProphetessMnemosyne@yahoo.com to tell her your personal standing in the History Quest.

Before the Muses began their Poetry, while they were still huffing and puffing from running through the Blasted Heath holding their breath, Thalia noticed a small ghost sitting on a stone in front of the Forgotten Idol. "Eek!" she squeaked. "Don't worry Mam, it's just me Twinklberi!" cried the little ghost. Sure enough that's who it was.

luvsparks

your face is the one i see... the moment i awake...
it is also the face i see..when sleep does over take...
i love your dear blue eyes.. so crystal blue and clear...
like opals shing brightly... so beautiful and dear...
i adore the touch of your sweet hands... so gentle yet so strong...
they give me peace and warmth....the whole day long....
your tender lips whispers words of love...how i love to hear you dear...
i love to hear all you say... your words are so soft and clear...
thank you darling love of mine....for being who you are....for loving me the way you do...
beyond the brightest star....

Some of the poems had a Halloween theme.

and slimmy...i dunno about u....but they scare the bageebis outta me....the things that go bump in
the night....

Roses are red, violets are bloo
'Cept Halloween, they all black and say BOO!

And one of our regular visitors shared with us her work in progress, work she was literally inspired to write as she visited with us.

Fall leaves swirling down
Golden moon so bright and round
Spooks walk on the ground.
Dark Skies; witches fly,
Owls Screech and chilly winds sigh
Cats croon eerie cry

The Muses each read some spooky poetry to put us all in the mood for Halloween. Twinkl dressed Thalia up in an appropriate ghost costume for the poem Thalia shared with the group about dressing up for Halloween. Muse Euterpe read a particularly chilling poem with rich and spooky language. Muse Thalia particularly liked the word "Mouldering" and determined to use it all month!

The Muses were thrilled to give out a special new October gift, Vladimir's Necklace for the first week of October. Come each week and collect all of the 5 Mouldering necklaces!

Please join Muse Euterpe and Muse Thalia for Poetry Corner next Tuesday at 10am at the Forgotten Idol. Bring an original poem or recite a favorite to share with the group. This Month's theme is Autumn or Halloween, with either Nature or Spooky poems suggested.
