Muse
Thalia and Muse Euterpe rose early on Tuesday morning to pick the perfect
pumpkins and carve spooky faces into them. They barely had time to
clean themselves up from their labors when it was time to rush to Poetry
Corner at the Forgotten Idol. They arrived to find a group of poetry
lovers dressed for the season in shades of Autumn and scary costumes.
Many
poems were recited, from thoughts of love to images to scare. In
order to lighten the mood there were even some Halloween jokes told.

It's Coming
Fall leaves swirling down
Golden moon so bright and round
Spooks walk on the ground.
Dark skies, witches fly
Owls screech and chilly winds cry,
Cats croon eerie cry.
Moldering graves groan,
Bub'ling caldron stirring crone
Spirits Haunt alone.
Halloween is Here!
Scary things soon will appear,
Pure hearts need not fear.

Why GOD Gave Us Friends
GOD knew that everyone needs
Companionship and cheer,
He knew that people need someone
Whose thoughts are always near.
He knew they need someone kind
To lend a helping hand.
Someone to gladly take the time
To care and understand.
GOD knew that we all need someone
To share each happy day,
To be a source of courage
When troubles come our way.
Someone to be true to us,
Whether near or far apart.
Someone whose love we'll always
Hold and treasure in our hearts.
That's Why GOD Gave Us Friends!

I came unprepared today
But Love all of YOU

Get A Life
Anyone who thinks it wrong
To love someone and get along
Just because they have no one
And don't know how to have fun
To make it public that they are jealous
Need to learn to be more zealous
Instead of trying to be so strife
Should go on and get a life
Blossom
Fall is coming now
No more coat of pink and white
Now my coat is gold

~*~ MY LOVE, MY LIFE~*~
dedicated to Bob and Leona
See him, smile at him, try to flirt a while,
Talk to him, kiss him, drive him a little wild,
Love him, miss him, love him so much more,
See a band on his hand,
Marriage, fun, laughter, and love,
Family gathered all around,
Illness weakens his body, Love strengthens my soul,
Waiting, helping, caring, and crying,
Begging God not to do it.
See the twinkle vanish from his eye,
A silent prayer and a soft whispered good-bye,
Until we meet again, my love.

Halloween Is Soon To Come And What Would It Be Without Musies
Halloween is quite a cold time,
it brings lotta rain and sleet,
so I'm gonna ask the Musies,
please come and rub warm my feet.

At
the end of their time together the Muses bestowed gifts of the Nevermore
necklace to each person who attended. A lovely reminder of their
time together in vivid Halloween colors.
Please join Muse Euterpe and Muse Thalia for Poetry Corner next Tuesday
at 10am at the Forgotten Idol. Bring an original poem or recite a favorite
to share with the group. This Month's theme is Autumn or Halloween,
with either Nature or Spooky poems suggested. |
