A Miscellany of the Macabre
October 8, 2003

Muses Urania and Terpsichore surprised their visitors on Wednesday evening with an impromptu revival of the October tradition of telling spooky stories on the Heath.

Their guests rose to the challenge admirably and entertained one and all by telling chilling tales, introducing us to some of their favourite scary movies, reciting Halloween poems that were as funny as they were scary.  They were even warned about the Leaf Monster in Kymer (thanks to Kjata) that lurks in the leaves to catch lone travelers unawares.  Fortunately the Sisters have been graciously escorted both to and from the Forgotten Idol all month to prevent an untimely disappearance!

The evening was so enjoyable that the Muses are planning the same kind of evening next week ... so bring your spooky stories, poems, legends and jokes to the Forgotten Idol next Wednesday at 4 p.m. WAT ... and don't travel alone through the leaves!
