On
Tuesday Muses Euterpe and Thalia were greeted by Margo, who was waiting
for Poetry Corner to begin. This was the first week at their new
time of 10am, so there was much concern that the regular poets would not
arrive. Margo waited, worrying, while Muse Euterpe then Muse
Thalia read their poems. Would anyone else arrive or would Margo
need more than one poem to recite? But soon more guests arrived to
share their poems and Margo was able to relax and enjoy listening after
reciting her original Haiku. Many thanks to Thomas The Crier for
alerting our talented poets to our new time.

While walking one day
I heard a grey squirrel say
May I have some nuts
WRITERS BLOCK
by Marianne G
Here I sit and concentrate,
Try to write but can't think straight <shrug>
Maybe instead of prose a story I'll write,
About a man who had a vampire bite?
No that's so lame and so oft told,
My head is stuffed, maybe I have a cold?
Focus now, I know I can,
100K for a head?!? What a scam!
I give up, I have writers block,
Good thing I don't have to write on a clock.
Maybe next week I'll be better prepared,
And come with a poem I can share <bow>
My Son.....
by Beanie Queen
From the moment I felt him move in my body
I knew we would bond ever so tightly
And that bond became so much more
My lil boy he will always be
I remember the first time he scraped his knee
I am there when he cries
To kiss his boo boos and make his favorite pies
Even though I can't always be there to hold his hand
My lil boy he will always be no matter if he's 2 or 43
He holds a special place in my heart
As he always has from the start
It's weird how you can fall in love at the first look at this bundle of joy
I even cried when I found out he was a boy
First walking, then talking, now playing with his favorite toy
Every time I look at him he gives me so much joy
Treasured memories they will always be between a mommy and her lil boy
No matter what events take place in his life or even if he marries and has a wife he will still always remain the most important man in my life.

You extended your hands
so I would come to you.
I had no clue they held a knife.
A knife that was so sharp,
it cut me without pain.
It slit to the center of my life.
You walked away unscathed.
And now I bare the scars
Of that viciously, gentle assault.
I'll hide the marks you left.
But smile when I think of you.
And I will wonder who was at fault.
SWEET WILLIAM
by Marianne G
Hair of blonde and eyes of green
I know you are every ladies dream,
Kind and gentle and strong of faith,
You turn from those who sponsor hate.
You turned into a perfect gentleman,
I like to brag that was my plan,
I look at you and I see hope,
Before there was you, how did I cope?
Nephew, godson, mine to mold,
Or so to your mother that's what I told
You came out perfect, credit I take,
Who knew the perfect Nephew an Aunt could make.
Please
join Muse Euterpe and Muse Thalia for Poetry Corner next Tuesday at
10am. Bring an original poem or recite a favorite to share
with the group.
