NewHorizone Announcement!
Dear newHorizone members,
We have received 23 emails from members over the last few days. Some were very concerned about the new rent change and others were worried that the 20% Pawn idea was going to backfire. Almost all the members who emailed me provided constructive ideas, and although most had been considered before, some were totally new and will be added to our plan.
After reviewing the situation we have decided to shelve the Pawn reduction idea as it will have a small impact and we really didn't give people enough time to sort out the items they would like to pawn.
We will still be increasing the rents on the larger Turfs as this is a key component in keeping the token level in check. The smaller Turfs will not be changed. Even at the higher rents, most members will be able to earn enough Tokens to pay the rent on several Turfs. If you are parked for 5 hours a day, you can earn 15,000 tokens a month. Even at the higher rents, 15,000 can pay for a lot of Turfs!
Some members expressed concern about newbies not being able to pay for a Turf. We had already planned to deal with this by providing a Turf for newbies that has the rent paid for several months. Newbies will also be given a semi-rare item as they hatch and so the members will have an opportunity to trade with them, and help get them started.
Soon we will introduce Southerbees, the upscale auction house where rare items will be available for Tokens. Those of you with big ATM balances will have an opportunity to buy unique, rare items, and help reduce the number of Tokens in the economy.
By the way, a few members mentioned that there has been a rumor going round that one or more staff members have been creating Tokens without us knowing. Apart from the fact that our staff are dedicated and honest, we know that this is not correct as we have had a checking system in place for some time. As part of our daily activity reports, we monitor all new items created and duplicated in the Zones, so it's impossible for there to be a leak.
